Santander City in Madrid covers an area of 250 hectares, and consists of nine office buildings, all of which have the latest developments in internal communication, workplace equipment, and energy savings. It also has two data processing centres, a training centre, a residence for employees, a nursery, large sports and retailing facilities, and a wide range of restaurants.
In 2013, Grupo Santander City won the Work-Life Innovative Excellence Award 2013, given every year by the Alliance for Work-Life Progress (AWLP). This US organisation rewards companies that promote a culture that allows its employees to make their professional and personal life compatible. Santander was the first European company to receive this award.
